Bioclimatic rehabilitation of the floral park library
2022
An existing building made of metal and glass is rehabilitated by cladding the structure in thatch.
Insulating and insulated spaces are created by carving into the mass of thatch, generating shapes and rhythms.
These two pavilions are thus the result of a reflection on an ancient bioclimatic thermal system, as well as an exploration of how to integrate a material traditionally used outdoors into an interior space as a structural element for spaces and subspaces, thereby creating a seamless continuity between interior and exterior.
